For as long as I can remember I’ve been meaning to whiten my teeth and guess what?! I finally did it!

Before this happened I don’t think there’s a homemade whitening formula I had not tried, from using baking soda with lemon to charcoal and coconut oil. As good as the results look while using these, It is very time-consuming and you have to be persistent to see results. The pros for natural DIY (homemade) whitening are; you don’t need to break the bank and your teeth become significantly whiter.

I had my teeth whitened at the Teeth21 clinic (Dental health Providers) at the Green House Mall (Nairobi) by Dr. Sunny.

The whole procedure ranges from Kes. 25,000 to Kes. 30,000.

It includes cleaning/scaling/polishing and whitening with bleach.

 They start off with cleaning & scaling, polishing and then finish up with bleaching.

You have to stay with the bleach for at least 30mins for excellent results, and the mouth guard thing is to prevent you from closing your mouth.

The bleach burnt a little and I felt like my teeth were falling off  (they were not), so I was laying there trying not to freak out.

After 35mins I was all done. Some of the bleach had sneaked up on some parts of my gum and it was burning like hell, but the dentist assured me that it will get better after 30 minutes. And true to his word it was.

I was ecstatic after I saw the final result. My teeth got a shade whiter. Apparently, if you want to get blinding white teeth, you have to do more than a session. I’d advise that you either go for a consultation in order to get all the facts from a professional or do your research online.

After my procedure, I was instructed to avoid things that would stain my teeth for the first two days to achieve A1 results.

Disclaimer: Please note that you won’t notice a big difference if your teeth are already white.

In my opinion, It wasn’t necessary to go through the procedure because my teeth were significantly white and I didn’t have any stains on them. But if your teeth have a discoloration you want to get rid of, then I’d recommend this 100%.

Would I do it again? Of course!

I’m also planning to try the whitening kits that have been circulating on Instagram and I’ll do a review on that. Any recommendations?
