Chic Cabin in Nairobi (The A-Frame on Windy Ridge) Review
I know it’s been a long minute since I put up a post. But boy oh boy, haven’t I been a busy bee. A lot has happened but I couldn’t let this month end before documenting my beautiful experience at the A-Frame.
When I saw this little cabin on Airbnb, I knew I had to end up there somehow. It is a great quick getaway if you live in Nairobi and a beautiful escape if you are coming in from anywhere else.
When we first drove in we were welcomed by very friendly dogs, I can’t remember their names but they had cute names.
PS. They don’t allow pets because of this.
The entire house has a modern rustic aesthetic feel with a living room, kitchen, kitchen bar and study corner, bathroom and bedroom. The living room ceilings are pretty high, allowing natural light to get in, making the space feel very bright and airy. The kitchen has ample storage and came packed with all the utensils you’d need. That includes wine glasses, cups, spoons, forks, bowls, plates, pots, pans et Cetera. Speaking of, I broke a wine glass doing god knows what and we were to pay for it but they didn’t let us. I liked that.
Upstairs there is a modest guest bedroom which felt a little cramped up because the ceiling was just too close, so you had to bend your body in every way to get to the bed so that you don’t hit your head #TallPeopleProblems. I also forgot to mention the bathroom is also downstairs so in case you need to use it you have to use the stairs.
What I really liked was the little porch. The area is generally quiet so it was very relaxing and soothing to sit there, listening to the birds’ chirp as I enjoyed my afternoon cocktail.
In conclusion, the customer service was excellent, everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would give the whole experience a 4.7 out of 5. I would definitely go back.
