Prom (Event) Beauty Mistakes To Avoid At All Costs

Prom night is a big thing for any young girl, and it is a time to look your absolute best. Whether you are a dab hand at making up, or a bit of an amateur, there are mistakes to be made, and with that in mind, here are some common prom beauty mistakes that you should be aware of. These also apply for other special events you may be attending, like, weddings, dates, cocktail parties and the like.
Don’t Plan Any Beauty Treatments On the Day
Having a treatment on the morning of the prom could be disastrous, so whether you want to top up that tan or have some skin treatment, do it at least 3 days prior to prom day, which will give your skin time to adjust. If you have yet to source the prom outfit, check out the amazing 2019 white prom dresses from Peaches Boutique, who happen to be the best online boutique, especially for prom dresses.
Avoid Spray Tanning
If you’re lucky a spray tan will look passable, yet most of the time, it just doesn’t make the grade. While we all love to be well-tanned, it shouldn’t be at the expense of looking like a raw carrot, so avoid spray tanning if you want to be sure of a great look on the day. If you really do want to tan, book a few sunbed sessions a week or so before the big day, which should give you a little extra colour.
Don’t Overdo The Accessories
Accessories are just that, they are designed to complement a given look, and not to be overdone. Less is certainly better than more, and by asking a good friend for her honest opinion, you should be able to judge when enough is enough. Too much jewellery will give you a confused look, and by sticking with 3 or maybe 4 jewellery items, that should suffice.
Don’t Sacrifice Comfort

Let’s face it, the prom is an event you are supposed to enjoy, and wearing very high heels and a dress that’s too tight isn’t going to help any. If you are uncomfortable, it will be noticeable, no matter how hard you try to look happy, and as far as enjoyment goes, it is hard to have fun if you don’t feel right. Wear the new shoes prior to prom night, and if high heels are an issue, consider another style, as you really must feel comfortable during the prom dance.
Don’t Experiment With Skin Care
There are times when you can try new products, but the prom is definitely not one of them. Skin care products can cause a rash, and unless you have used a product before without any issues, leave it until after the prom, just in case. There are some great natural skin care ideas online to try, which is recommended reading for all who suffer with skin irritation and allergies.
If you don’t leave anything to chance and avoid making the above errors, you should be looking great on the prom night, which is one of the most exciting times in any girl’s life.
